Joan Jett & The Blackhearts released their cover of Lou Reed's "I'm So Free," off the upcoming tribute album "The Power of the Heart: A Tribute to Lou Reed" which is coming out April 20th!
This comes before her new release "Mindsets," which will have a record store day exclusive vinyl release.
Keith Richards dropped the first single and video for the album!
Keith Richards’ covered “I’m Waiting for the Man,” on Reed’s birthday on March 2nd. The album features, Angel Olsen, The Afghan Whigs, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Rosanne Cash, and Lucinda Williams, and will be available on vinyl exclusively for Record Store Day and will include photos of Reed taken by Mick Rock and Timothy Greenfield-Sanders.
“I’m Waiting for the Man” appeared on The Velvet Underground’s debut, The Velvet Underground & Nico.
“To me, Lou stood out. The real deal! [He was] important to American music and to ALL MUSIC!” Richards said. “I miss him and his dog.”
